  • The winners of this year’s gamescom award have been revealed. During the ceremony at the gamescom studio powered by IGN, trophies were handed out across 19 categories, celebrating the standout highlights of the world’s biggest gaming event.

The undisputed star of gamescom 2025 was Resident Evil Requiem. Capcom Entertainment’s survival horror blockbuster triumphed in four categories, winning Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic, and Best Sony PlayStation Game. With additional nominations for Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom also walked away with the award for Best Lineup.

Ubisoft likewise celebrated multiple wins. Anno 117: Pax Romana was named Best PC Game, while the company’s presence at gamescom earned both the Best Booth and Best Business Booth awards selected by the jury. Among fans, however, one clear favorite has emerged that won a gamescom award: the Pokémon booth in the entertainment area, which drew huge crowds and widespread enthusiasm.

Another highlight was the trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which captivated the community and won the award for Best Trailer. The indie title Tiny Bookshop won the Games for Impact category with its positive message about building and nurturing a community of reading enthusiasts. With its double win in Most Entertaining and Most Wholesome, Hela proves just how entertaining cozy games can be.

This year’s HEART OF GAMING Award, the jury’s special prize, went to the gamescom artist area. Here, artists exhibit their game-inspired works and share their art with the numerous fans of gaming culture. This award recognizes the outstanding contribution made by Artist Alleys to direct exchange with and support of independent creatives.
