Composed by Matías Castro Cancino, a talented composer known for scores that balance emotional depth with cinematic impact, the Sky Oceans Original Game Soundtrack is a celebration of Glenn Windwalker and his crew. Active since 2010, Matías has written original music for film, animation and games, with credits including Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire and The Spirit of the Samurai. His work has featured in global campaigns for The Book of Boba Fett, Moon Knight and Mortal Kombat 1. Beyond screen scoring he also releases sci-fi inspired ambient music as Darkest Dreams, crafting immersive soundscapes with analogue synthesisers and orchestral textures.

The album features new recordings that spotlight character themes and fan-favourite motifs from across the journey. • “Dreamed to Dare” is penned by Daniel Mertzlufft – who launched the viral TikTok musical “Ratatouille the Musical” – and features TikTok singing sensations The Sharpe Family and the actual sad Oompa Loompa actress Kirsty Paterson from the viral Wonka Experience in Glasgow (playing a character inspired on her own experiences) as the attendees prepare to enter the world of dreams (or nightmares?). 
  
  “Not many shows have such high stakes and absurd characters that we deserve a bombastic anticipatory ensemble number – but with a plot like this I couldn’t resist!” exclaims Daniel Mertzlufft.

• “Where Dreams Go To Fly” is an uplifting number written by Emmy-award winners Doug Rockwell and Tova Litvin, capturing the unbridled optimism of the impresario behind Willy’s Candy Spectacular. Their previous works include songs for “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and “Julie & The Phantoms.”

The expansive music library spans a wide range of genres, including hip-hop, electronic, pop, rock and alternative, from throwback tracks from the ‘70s through today’s Top 40, including The Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop,” Nas’ “Represent,” and Zedd’s “I Want You to Know” featuring Selena Gomez.

Gamers will also have the opportunity to listen to all-new instrumental tracks created by each producer, which will be available in-game at various points during the MyPLAYER and MyGM experiences.

Sanrio designer Yuko Yamaguchi first approached Yoshiki to write the song in 2008, however it was not until his performance this week that the song was shared with the public. Yoshiki dedicated Hello Hello to Kunihiko Tsuji, the late VP of Sanrio and a close personal friend. The song will be released at a later date in multiple languages.

“I am very honored to be given the opportunity to compose this song,” said Yoshiki. “I hope that Hello Kitty and the theme song will bring more peace and the melody of love to the world. I want to share this with my children one day.”

Yuko Yamaguchi added, “we are so grateful to have the internationally acclaimed artist Yoshiki compose the theme song for Hello Kitty in honor of the iconic brand’s 40th anniversary. When I first met him in the winter of 2007, I knew right away that Yoshiki would be the perfect person to pay tribute to her.”

In 2009, Sanrio created “Yoshikitty” modeled after Yoshiki and the first Hello Kitty doll to be officially named after somebody. “Yoshikitty” shares the iconic rock star’s famous look of half-spiked-half-wavy blond hair, purple eye shadows and black clothing, although she retains her cute red bow.

Yoshiki has been making headlines in the US with his legendary band X Japan who recently performed their first stateside concert in four years at New York’s Madison Square Garden. John Battsek, Executive Producer of the Oscar-winning Searching For Sugar Man, started principle photography at the MSG concert for a documentary he is making about X Japan and their tumultuous history, which involves several breakups and the deaths of two of its members. The band has ultimately overcome these obstacles to sell 30 million albums and singles to date and to become one of Asia’s most legendary rock bands. Stephen Kijak (Scott Walker: 30 Century Man, Stones In Exile) will direct.

As one of Asia’s most influential music artists and biggest rock icons, Yoshiki composed the theme song for the Golden Globes® and also composed and conducted the Super World Orchestra at the opening ceremony of the World Expo. Yoshiki’s compositions also include a piano concerto that he performed alongside a 77piece orchestra celebrating the tenth year of the Emperor of Japan’s reign.

Yoshiki will also appear this Sunday, November 2 at Stan Lee’s Comikaze convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Yoshiki will join Stan Lee on a panel to discuss their collaborations, including the comic series based on Yoshiki, Blood Red Dragon.

X Japan, led by co-founder, drummer, pianist and songwriter Yoshiki, will return to New York City for their first concert since 2010, performing both fan favorites and previously unreleased music from the band’s decades of recordings. This Madison Square Garden concert marks a significant milestone for the band who made their U.S. debut with a Rockefeller Center press conference over 20 years ago, which presented the fierce J-Rock stars to an American audience. The band is finally fulfilling the promise they made to the fans to return. A variety of YouTube and internet superstars will also be performing including Malukah known for her popular acoustic rendition of “Dragonborn Comes” which has been viewed over 40 million times around the world. Amazing vocalists Peter Hollens and Jillian Aversa (Halo, God of War) will be performing throughout the show as well as Mystery Guitar Man and Taylor Davis (Violin Tay). The video game cover band Critical Hit fronted by Blizzard Entertainment composer Jason Hayes along with Paul McCartney guitarist Laurence Juber will be premiering an incredible Mega Man arrangement as well as the world premier of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. World famous film score pianist Randy Kerber (Star Wars, Titanic, Forrest Gump) will be featured in the League of Legends world premiere.

During the show, the world’s leading record label dedicated to releasing video game soundtracks, Sumthing.com is giving away a year of free music downloads to three lucky winners.
