DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH arrived onto PlayStation 5 one-year ago. To celebrate the one-year launch anniversary, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS recently announced that Hideo Kojima’s epic is on sale now! Nominated seven times at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards and winner of the Artistic Achievement award, DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is a standalone sequel to DEATH STRANDING, in which you step into the boots of Sam and his companions as they journey across Australia on a new mission to save humanity from extinction and discover the answer to the haunting question:

Should we have connected?

Surrounded by enemies, Sam can shoot, sneak, and sprint his way out of trouble whilst surviving the natural disasters wreaking havoc upon the world. Sam must brave earthquakes, sandstorms and forest fires, as well as the ruinous Timefall as he strives to save humanity from extinction once again. Throughout Sam’s journey the Social Strand System connects players from around the globe, allowing you to shape someone else’s world, and have their actions shape yours.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH
sees Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker return to Hideo Kojima’s genre defying universe. They are joined by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller.

Earlier this month we travelled to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, deep in the California desert to Font’s Point, the inspiration for the opening scenes of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH with our friends at DNSYS to test the DEATH STRANDING themed Z1 Exoskeleton. It was a unique opportunity to showcase our partnership with DNSYS, driven by a common goal of generating inspiration. We took a team of content creators into the desert and allowed them to test the Z1 Exoskeletons in the real environment that inspired the opening of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH.
